Nothing against you, everything against the racist shit you're spewing.
Just another memory #indian #costume #headdress #party (Taken with instagram)
NOPE
for the last day I’ve seen a lot of hate to the people who wear’s native american headdress. can someone please explain me this?
because ok, I’m Mexican and here we have a lot of native (is that word right?) communities and they sell clothes and crafts.. and that’s the way they can live, selling to other people the same clothes their peoples uses.
so then i see all this cultural appropriation fight, so i was thinking.. why this? i can’t understand isn’t it more racist to say that just native american can use feather headdresses? isn’t it similar to say that just asian people can eat rice?
also, i think that U.S.A is full of immigrants and that is inevitable to assimilate their cultures, because it is something we live day by day.
if I’m right is not belly dancing racist too? and what about being a skinhead, is it only for British people? eating Chinese food? sushi? etc.
please someone explain me whitout being rude
<3 thanks
btw sorry for the bad english
Okay, I want to explain this nicely just for you. The difference in the things you listed is that they’re every day items. The clothes and crafts etc that are being sold aren’t (I presume) sacred items.
Native Headdress are very important sacred items that aren’t just handed out/worn everyday. They have history and meaning, they are not a toy, they are not for fashion.
One day. I will learn to Tumblr. I promise.
I don’t understand the irritation people are expressing with regards to the Native American’s way of dress being made fashionable. Are they really upset the influence of Native American’s have recently became trendy, worn by people who “don’t understand the meaning and symbolism” behind it? Well that’s pretty silly.
If more people are exposed to native american culture through fashion, then that culture lives. Why would any society want to be forgotten as a people? If there’s anything I know, it’s that “Native Americans”, “Indians”, whatever you’d like to call them, were very proud and ornamental with their ability to use the earth’s resources. People who find this look “stylish” are more inclined to learn more about the “look’s” origin, and perhaps learn something historical about Native Americans.
The biggest disservice we could do to such an incredible culture and such incredible people, is forget of them.
So shut up and let me wear my fucking headdress!!

Anyone else want to…uh “respectfully” take this? I’m feeling a bit ill. (I can’t say nicely cause uhhh, but no trolling!)
